Disc Creation Software

How to easily burn a CD in Windows XP

Windows XP's built-in CD-burning software allows you to select files, drag and drop them to the CD drive's icon, then right-click on the CD drive's icon and select Write files to CD. Your files are then written out to the CD and the disk is ejected when the burning process is completed.

This burning method is strictly for CD media only and not DVD media. The Windows XP built-in burning software is really a system most suitable for preparing straightforward data CDs on CD-R.

Why can't I delete a file off a rewritable CD (CD-RW)?

A CD-RW (Compact Disc-ReWritable), introduced in 1997, is a rewritable optical disc. CD-RWs can be written to hundreds of times as compared to a CD-R (Compact Disc-Recordable), which can only be written to once.
