Using Microsoft Outlook to filter email messages sent to your Zimbra mailbox

Outlook local rules for filtering are not executed automatically when you use the Zimbra Connector for Outlook.  You can use the ITG Zimbra Server Rules feature to create filters to manage your email and Calendar invitations from Outlook.  A filter consists of a set of rules or conditions. If the rule is met, a specified action is performed. The ITG Zimbra Server Rules let you create filters to do the following:

  • Move an email into a specific folder
  • Delete a message
  • Forward a message
  • Assign an email to a category
  • Flag a message
  • Mark a message as read

You can edit and view your Zimbra mail filters in Outlook from Tools > Zimbra Server Rules.  With Microsoft Outlook 2010, click on the Zimbra tab.
